I have been running for 1 year and have aspired to run at the collegiate level ever since. I know that running in college is a something that not everybody is able to do but I truly believe that I am capable to do so.
I have been running track for only 1 year. At the beginning, I tried to find the best fit by trying everything I would possibly feel comfortable with (sprint, hurdle, jump, and javelin). I found myself really enjoying the jumping events including long jump and High jump. During the winter the season, I was really mediocre at everything: I could barely jump over 5ft in high jump and had a long jump PR of 15ft9.25. As the winter season ended, I tried to think about everything my coach told me concerning my form and my approach. At the first track meet, I ended up jumping 5 ft 6 without a problem. At the end of the season, as I qualified for groups, I had to be able to jump over 6ft since it was the opening height. The days before, I really worked on jumping theses kind of height with my coach and the day of the meet, I really had good attempts at 6 ft. All of that to say that I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working jump as well as one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I also really try to help my classmate when I can.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom as well as on the track. I am open to all options in order to find the right college match at the highest level of competition and academic possible. I hope to become a great role model for people around me and make my parents proud.
