With my experience, I understand the sacrifices that come with the sport. The setbacks, the runs in crappy weather, and most of all, the euphoria of finishing a race knowing I did well and left it all out there on the track or course. I work hard, I stay focused. When I put my mind to something, I try my very best to go out and get it. I can take feedback, the good or the bad kind. I am open to change if I am doing something wrong, or right. Not only do I want to excel, I want my teammates to excel as well. I am happy to see my teammates succeed. My character comes from the side of my family that struggled. I have watched them struggle, and watch them sell themselves short. That motivated me to want to be better than them. I learned how to lift my teammates or members of my family, and encourage them to want better for themselves, because they deserve nothing less. I have always struggled in school, the covid lockdown made it more difficult for me. I know that I took shortcuts. Since then I have come a long way, I have straight A's, and I qualified for renaissance. I am willing to put some work in, not just on the track, I know there are no shortcuts to what I want.
