Erick Alvarez '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Erick Alvarez and my goal is to become the best i can be and make a name for myself. i do that through track and field. in college id like to major in physical sciences.

I began doing track my freshmen year of high school, had no experience and i loved the sport. I was pleased to be announced on varsity for that year. Sophomore year hit and i was more pumped than ever, In outdoor i lead a strong veteran hurdle whom took 1st place in Passaic county Relays. For indoor track i placed at several events and took 1st in the league for High Jump and took 3rd in the League for Triple Jump. In outdoor track i took 1st Team All-League once again for High Jump, i placed 3rd for High Jump and placed 1st for the 110m Hurdles. At the Passaic County Championships i placed 3rd for 110mH and placed 5th for High Jump. The NJSiAA State Sectionals meet was coming up i was ready. I placed 5th with a time of 15.2 in the 110mH and placed 6th in High Jump with a jump of 5'10" and advanced to the State Group Championships. At the State Group Championships i was in the fastest heat and just missed placing.

At the Elite Track and Field Showcase held in Newark, Nj. i placed 5th in 110mH among some great competitors. And for High Jump i cleared 6'0" and placed 2nd at the showcase.

 Top 20 in the state of New Jersey for 110mH.
