I had been wanting to pole vault since I found out what it was in my sophomore year of high school from my track coach. At the time, the track team didn't have a pole vault coach so I couldn't jump. But in the spring season of track of my junior year, we finally got a coach, and within the first 4 weeks of practice, I hit 9 ft 6 inches. Then we had to stop jumping for the summer because we weren't allowed to and the coach couldn't show up. Begin my winter season of track, first meet I break my pr and got 10ft in a meet, 2 weeks later I break that pr and get 10ft 6in first try, I, unfortunately, missed the spot to states by one spot.
I say this so you can see the hunger I have to break my records and be the best pole vaulter, of my age, that I know of. I love the sport and I have been and am willing to work nonstop to get better. I also go to clubs on weekends to get more opinions and coaching from different coaches because I can get critiquing from a new perspective. Every single moment of my free time I am thinking about how I can turn better of swing better or overall just jump higher. You would benefit from having me on your team because I will go to the furthest extent to be better, I have the hunger in me to get the team to the highest it's ever been. At the end of the day, I love pole vaulting and I love the community that it has created for me and others alike.
