I have run Cross Country for 4 years starting in middle school 7th grade, as I have progressed and learned more about the sport, I have learned more about the values of the sport, such as the importance of consistency and persistence. I have been specifically tested in these two values after I got injured in my knees during the 2022 outdoor track season, which resulted in an underwhelming season of performances. However as I entered my 2023 Cross Country season, I remained consistent with my craft despite the presence of my injury, I was able to beat my time by over 50 seconds and earned the role of Captain for the XC and Distance Track team. As I continue into my high school track career, I have learned that in the face of adversity, patience is vital.
