Personal Statement

My name is Brad Johnson, I'm a 2023 thrower on the Amherst High School track team.  After only 2 years of throwing, my top marks are 50'9" in shot put and 140' in discus.  I was the sectional champion in shot put this past season and finished 4th at states.  Since I'm relatively new to throwing, I believe this is just the beginning and I have a lot more potential.  Next year I plan to compete in indoor as well, where I will also do weight throw.  My goal is to be the state champion in shot put for both indoor and outdoor.

Academically, I excel in the classroom, with a weighted GPA of over 100.  I would like to study engineering in college because I do very well in math and science.  I scored a 1460 on my SAT in March, and I had almost a perfect score on the math section.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
