My name is Owen, and I’m a Class of 2026 student at Amherst Central High School in Amherst, NY.
I am a three-sport varsity athlete competing in cross country, swim, and track. My primary track events are the 1600 and 800 and while an injury last season temporarily set me back, it taught me how to train smarter, take better care of my body, and strengthen my overall approach to athletics. I came back more disciplined, focused, and determined than ever.
PR's this track season are:
• 400m – 53.28
• 800m – 1:58.57
• 1600m – 4:24.98
Academically, I maintain a GPA above a 99 and am currently enrolled in four AP courses along with several honors classes. I serve as four-year class president, am active in Spanish Club, and was selected to represent my school at the state level in a student government initiative. Also, I recently interned at the Jacobs Biomedical Institute, where I’m gaining valuable hands-on research experience.
Beyond school and athletics, I had the honor of representing the U.S. at the Maccabi Games in Israel as part of the swim team. In a deeply personal project, my brother and I recently raised over $21,000 for pediatric cancer patient support—he is a survivor—and we capped that journey by summiting Mount Kilimanjaro together this past November.
I’d love the chance to learn more about your team and the recruiting process.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best regards, Owen
