I started running in 9th grade and quickly fell in love with the sport, although I wasn't excellent at it. In my freshman year, I went from a nearly sub-6 in the mile to 5:14 in one season, and I've been consistently chipping away at my goals since then. Competing at the collegiate level has been a long-standing dream of mine, and I see it as an opportunity to grow as an athlete and a person.
I take pride in my resilience and work ethic, training year-round, setting goals constantly, and maintaining a high level of dedication on and off the track. Through a recent injury, keeping me from training during my junior year XC season, I have learned what being disciplined really means, and I’ve grown stronger mentally, staying focused on recovery and progress even when I can't compete.
Academics are equally important to me, and although my school does not give a GPA, I maintain very high grades (the one mentioned above is a mock GPA) and take rigorous courses while staying active in my community through volunteering and student leadership.
I’m excited to find a college where I can contribute to a competitive team, challenge myself academically, and continue pursuing my passion for running. I’m open to exploring all opportunities that will help me achieve these goals and grow into the best version of myself.
