Currently (10/16/2020) I am a captain of my High School Cross Country Team (2020 season).
Throughout my time in sports I have had to overcome being told no you can't do this or that. For example, I was told at one point that I was not good enough for the US Luge team. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. I work hard and ended up beating half the boys on the team in order to earn a spot. I am a hard worker and driven to do better in all that I decide to do.
I participate in a variety of sports. I throw javelin and discus. I am going back to throwing shot put and most recently learning weight and hammer throw. I also run the 5k in Cross Country. I am a former United States athlete. I was on the United States Developmental team for Luge. I am now trying out for the US Bobsled and Skeleton teams. I also dance three hours per week (Tap, Jazz, and Ballet).
Along with this, I also volunteer in my community. I student teach an hour at my Dance Studio each week. For the past four summers, I have volunteered at our local library. I help our Delmar Track and Field Club Team. I work with younger children during the XC season and assistant with the throwing events for during the track season. I am certified as a US National Luge official and am currently the youngest ever in the world! I work at the student help desk at my school where I fix student and staff technology problems that may arise and try to make their day better.
