My passion for running began in 6th grade. I remember looking up at the older kids and dreaming to run as fast as them. Currently, I am a senior at the World Journalism Preparatory School in Flushing, NY. I have been an active member of the Francis Lewis track team since freshman year. I have run every season (cross country, indoor, and outdoor track). As a distance runner, cross-country is where I excel and flourish. Since freshman year I have dedicated myself to the sport. I have shown commitment and leadership. Never complaining and always moving forward even during covid when sports disappeared, I continued running on my own and came back stronger. I am a person that works extremely hard and never complains about hard work or pain. Therefore, I believe I will be an asset on any college cross-country team. Now as a senior, I am a great leader and a role model to the younger members of my team. In closing, my coach has said that I am the "heart" of the team.
