Matthew Armstrong '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a determined versatile runner committed to achieving the highest academic and athletic achievement possible to get into a quality business school that has a competitive track program that will push me to continue to grow and develop as a student, athlete and teammate.  What sets me apart from others is my leadership qualities and work ethic that I bring to the field every day.  As a three-sport athlete, I also have the versatility of speed and endurance to compete in many events, in addition to those attributes, I am very coachable, and eager to learn new ways that can help me to improve and excel on and off the field to help a team win.  It is a privilege to also have been chosen as a team Captain my junior and senior years for XC, Indoor and Outdoor track.

In addition, community service has been a valuable experience throughout my life.  I have enjoyed volunteering for associations like St. Hughes of Lincoln food pantry, the LI Golden Retriever Foundation, and Caumsett State Park teaching me the importance of teamwork and selflessness. I am proud and honored to have received multiple scholar athlete awards while maintaining a 3.7 grade point average. Huntington high school has provided me with a very diverse academic experience where I’ve been a member of orchestra for 7 years as a double bass player, made high honor/honor roll each quarter, and have been invited to be in AP Literature and Biology as well as honors Latin.
