Jesse Wells ‘21, ...Personal Statement
I started running track just under 2 years ago and really want to continue this dream of mine. I've suffered a major injury during this time only for me to overcome and still have my best track season yet. I'm always working to put my body in the best position to succeed even training 3 times a day and waking up at 4 am in the morning to go run. I've always had a lot of raw talent and the drive to refine that is definitely there. I've always been disciplined and on Evaluations, for multiple sports, there's always been one common theme, Coachable! I have plenty of goals for this year including breaking the 1:56 barrier and the 49.41 school record in the 400m. I plan to be the hardest one training every day and to work harder than everyone else on my team! - This was written before the coronavirus took hold of the country. Every day I am still training hard to break these barriers to keep my dreams alive of going to a university and running there as well.

- Competed at the AAU Junior Olympic Games ~ 2019, Finished 1 spot off of All-American in the 4x800, 12th overall in the 4x400, and jumped up around 60 spots in seeding for the open 800, PR'd with a 2:00 800m, 51.6 split in the 4x400 (50.8 split in AAU Region 25 qualifying) and won his heat in the open 800 for the AAU Region 25 Qualifying event.

Yes. Most of my classes are honors, my school does not provide many options in regards to Classes. Since I am dual enrolled in North Carolina State University and get many college credits there.Are you in AP/IB classes?
Yes. We are only allowed to take 1 AP Class schoolwide, AP US History where I got an A. Again, We are only allowed 1 AP Class because of the dual enrollment with North Carolina State.Registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center?
