Andrew "Drew" Suchland '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been a competitive runner since my first race in the 7th grade. During my first year running cross country I broke the school record and I currently hold the all-time record for the 7th grade with a time of 11:40. I repeated my success in the 8th grade earning the title of Conference Champion and secured my place on the 8th grade leader board as well.

I continued my running career into high school, where I competed at the varsity level in both cross country and track every year since my freshman year. Throughout my running career, I continuously improved my times year over year, and I have successfully helped my team win multiple meets/invitationals, and I have secured my spot on the all-time leader’s board for Buckeye Valley High School in both track and cross country.

On the track I have become a utility runner because of my endurance, agility and speed. I have demonstrated my team commitment and versatility by competing in every race that my coaches have placed me in. Most recently in my 2023 track season, I ran as the anchor in the 800 M relay, 1600 M run and I also ran the 3rd leg of the 4x400 M relay.  During the 2023 season, my teammates and I set the school all-time record and completed in the Division II State Championship where we finished 11th overall in the state for the 4x4 relay. I also helped secure our school’s first ever Conference and District Men’s titles.

Overall, I enjoy running and I am confident that I can translate my success onto the track for a team that is seeking someone with my experience, utility, competitiveness, and willingness to learn. I look forward to hearing from you.
