My name is Aidan Douglas and I attend Chippewa High School in Doylestown, Ohio where I am currently a junior. I am 6’ tall and my weight is 145 lbs. I am currently enrolled in a private weight training program with Anthony Schrock at Pack Performance. I train with the Industrial Vault Club under Coach Dave Mackey year round.
As a middle school student, I became interested in Pole Vault and since that time I have attended the University of Akron Pole Vault Convention and various camps and clinics such as the Westminster Summer Pole Vault Camp.
I feel that I would be a strong asset to a college track team due to the fact that I am very determined to succeed and a hard worker who is able to balance athletics and academics. As a sophomore I scored a 27 on the ACT and my grade point average is a 4.0. I participate in sports year round as well as continuing to compete with the Industrial Vault Club. I am on the varsity track, cross country and basketball teams for my high school. Last year I advanced to the regionals in track and placed 5th in the pole vault with a height of 12’6”. My personal best as a sophomore was 13’.
My goal in college will be to acquire a quality education that will position me well for my future. On the track team, I plan to be an asset and a positive influence on the team. Throughout my college athletic career, I will continually strive to grow as a vaulter and a teammate. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend.
