My name is Cameron Nurse and I’m currently a Senior at Michael Power St Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada. I have been running track for only two years but I have come to love the sport of Track and Field. I have medaled on the Provincial (State Champion) level both years and was a member of the 2013 Canadian World Youth team and competed at World Youth Championships in Donetsk Ukraine. I placed 3rd in the 400m and 2nd in the 200m at 2013 National Championships. I was also a member of the 4x400 relay team that won Nationals.
For The 2013 Outdoor Season I was ranked #1 in Canada as a Youth (16/17) for both the 200 and 400.
I have great speed endurance and I’m working on improving my running form everyday. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working sprinters on the roster and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA while in the International Baccalaureate Program (IB). I also volunteer at a hospital in downtown Toronto, Toronto Rehab and participate in many clubs and councils at my school. (Leadership, Peer Tutor, Athletic Council, Fashion show, IB mentor, Peer counselor etc)
I want to attend a college where I can push myself both in the classroom and on the track. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud.
