My name is Nathaniel Dery, I'm currently 16 and my goal is to pursue a college career in track and field. I would like to complete a bachelor's degree in business and continue to study corporate law. I put in work 7 days a week to make sure I am always getting better. I like to set short and long term goals to push myself beyond limits.
I like to consider myself an all-around athlete, In the past, my main sport was baseball where my main positions included pitcher and center field. Currently, I compete in Javelin and Discus. I fell in love with this sport the minute I picked up my first Javelin. When I take that first step on the runway its no longer fun and games. It's focus time, where all my hard work starts to show.
I continue to learn many life lessons throughout my athletic journey. What truly sticks out most is how track and field has improved me mentally. The daily weightlifting, the early mornings, and late nights giving it my all every single throw. It has all taught me so much about who I am, that when I am determined, I push to get through any obstacle that stands in my way. The track has taught me that success does not come without sacrifice.
Outside of track, I volunteer a lot around my school and community. During the summer I volunteer my time to work at a baseball camp called Field Of Dreams. In the offseason, I play on the varsity volleyball team, compete in cross country, and I fill the position of the backup goalie on the soccer team. I play on the Table tennis team and also take part in the athletic council. I run my own personal training online business and also run a workout club after school.
