My ultimate collegiate goal is to run track at a four-year university and earn a degree. I exhibit a team orientation and love being a part of something bigger than myself. Competing against the nation’s next-level runners is congruent with my aim. During high school I have played basketball all 4 years and have been selected to play on varsity since a Sophmore. I also played football and baseball until the end of my freshman year when I was injured, tearing my labrum. Following surgery and my full recovery, I fell in love with running and undertook my work on the track my junior year in high school. I am highly competitive and have an overwhelming desire to reach my potential. I really don't like to lose, whether in practice or at organized competitions. After completing my first year in track, and experiencing some successes, I feel that I still have tremendous opportunity to grow as a runner and as a student of the sport. I am extremely goal-oriented and once I establish a goal, regardless if it is related to my school work or athletic experiences, I won’t let up until it is fully accomplished.
