I go to a small school in rural Oregon. Our track program is new so there are limited coaching and facility resources. I have self coached myself through much of my training, including learning hurdle technique, learning racing strategy, and building my lactic endurance for the 400m. Because our track program is expanding, I was able to step up and built upon my leadership and self-driving capabilities. I lead myself and fellow athletes through training with a good work ethic and discipline. This led us to winning the 2024 boy's state championship.
I have continued to surprise myself and my coaches with how much I improve season to season. I have not had a season where I didn't take more then a second off my times. In my freshman year I ran a 1:01 in the 400m. The very next season I ran a 54 flat. In my junior season a 51.7, and now I run a 49.7. Every year I work harder and always improve on my times. I believe that I have huge potential to grow and improve as I have mostly been teaching myself. Now I need your technical expertise to take me to the next level.
