I have always been competitive, but I am not sure if it’s truly by nature or nurture as I have an identical twin and that it comes with the territory.   My twin and I have always enjoyed playing sports and we have always played on the same team– baseball, basketball and soccer, but in 7th grade we each opted to run cross country in the fall rather than play soccer.   It was the year that I understood my success could only come from me and not necessarily from a team dynamic.  It was the year that I found my identity as Noah and not a twin.  My team, and twin, could encourage me, but they could not make me run faster – that I had to accomplish on my own and I did.  I ran in the County Championships the last 3 years and qualified for Districts and States in 2017 as a freshman – the only freshman from my high school to do so that year.  I am sure my competitive nature, with or without my twin, will always be prevalent, but my achievements are solely my own.
