I first started training specifically for track in January 2019 with my present coach, Dale Upton, at Dunamis Athletics Training. From that moment on, I started developing a keen fascination towards the sport that I had never felt with any other sport. Everything about it piqued my interest.
What sets me apart from other athletes is that I am a quick learner. Even though I am new to the sport I was able to excel quickly, hitting the national stage twice in my first 8 months, once in March at the Hershey Canadian Indoor Championships where I placed fourth overall and again in August representing my province at Canadian Legion Youth Championships where I finished 8th in the 100m and placed 2nd in the 4x100 relay breaking the provincial record.
I dedicate countless hours on the track with my coach every week to improve myself and am willing to do the same at the next level to better myself even further. I also work with trainers outside of the track developing my mobility and strength to make sure I am in the right physical shape so I can always perform at my best. That same amount of effort and dedication for track is also put into my schoolwork making sure I have the right grades so I have a variety of options when I get to university. I aspire to compete in track at the highest level possible and I am willing to dedicate time, effort, and commitment to not just track, but to my education as well to make sure I achieve that goal.
