Being a Life Scout in Boy Scouts has heavily influenced my life. Boy Scouts has really helped me develop discipline, leadership skills, and helped me mature throughout my life. I’ve learned many different ways to help conduct my everyday life. In Scouts we have the Scout motto, slogan, oath, law, and outdoor code. The Scout Motto is “be prepared”, and the Scout Slogan is “do a good turn daily”. All of these have taught me to be respectful, stay healthy and strong, and try to live my life to the fullest.
I started running track in eighth grade, but my season was cut short by Covid. I’ve ran track and cross country every year since then trying to better myself. Throughout the past couple of years I’ve realized how strong I am mentally, and how I can really bond with my teammates. I have started to think about my goals and I realized I want to go to college to major in mechanical engineering and continue my running career. Running has made me a much better person physically and mentally. I feel like my friends that run have also helped me progress because you can't get faster without your teammates. My coaches and teammates have helped me develop my character, work ethic, and leadership skills. Track and Cross Country are now my favorite sports because of the community and the opportunities.
