I am a leader academically and athletically and I would love nothing more than to be able to build on my success at the collegiate level. I have been recognized as the most valuable member of my school Track and Cross Country teams not only because of my times, but also because I lead the team through modeling cooperation, confidence and attentiveness to every member of the team. I was elected team captain of both Track and Cross Country my junior year as well as my senior year. Last season, I ran a 1:53.74 800 meter run which ranked me 6th in my state and a 4:23.44 1600 meters which ranked me 22nd in my state. In Cross Country this year I am ranked 25th in my state in the 5K. My times have been steadily improving. As I have not yet been intensely trained, I feel as though I still have a lot of potential to improve as a runner.
I love challenges and opportunities to work with others. I have been an active member of Student Council and I am currently the Senior Class Treasurer. I have always had a strong interest in politics. I participated in Model UN for the past 2 years and I have been a member of The Tennessee YMCA Youth In Government Program for 3 years.
Outside of school, I try to seize opportunities to better myself and the community. I have completed several summer internships with a Criminal Court Judge and I am on the leadership team for a unique youth program called Youth About Business.
