Hi, I'm Caeden Yanis. I'm an athlete at Siegel Highschool, graduating class of 2025. I've grown up in a running environment my whole life, as my dad was a D1 XC/Track collegiate athlete.
Personally, I've been running since 5th grade and I love it. It has become my number one priority and it's safe to say I'm pretty good at it.
Accomplishments: I hold the freshman and sophomore 5k Records, as well as the freshman and sophomore 1600, 1-mile, 3200, and 2-mile records at my former school (Centennial Highschool) in Roswell, GA. After my sophomore year, we moved to Murfreesboro, TN where I currently run for Siegel HighSchool. This XC season, I placed 2nd at our Regional Meet individually and our team placed 1st.
What sets me apart? I stand out amongst my peers because I have been given the opportunity to run competitively in 2 separate states. Acclimating to a new team, new environment, new school, new running courses, etc. is often a struggle for new college students and athletes. I have already navigated these hardships as a high school student athlete, which puts me ahead of most incoming college student athletes.
I remain motivated by my personal and team accomplishments and have an insatiable desire to reset what people perceive fast high school times to be. I plan on doing this by maintaining gradual, steady, and consistent progressions from one season to the next.
Historically, I ran with Alpha Crush Running Club in Alpharetta, GA during elementary and middle school, aggressively competing through USATF sanctioned meets. I qualified and was awarded the opportunity to compete in the USATF Junior Olympic championship meet every year. I'm looking forward to competing and excelling at the collegiate level in the near future.
Academically, I have plans to pursue a career in Dentistry/Orthodonics. I know my commitment to our sport will translate well into being successful through pursing a higher education degree. The psychology behind our sport usually translates well into areas of grit, determination and what it means to work hard with a mind over matter head space.
Thank you for taking time to read a little bit about me and my plans.
