I am currently going in to my senior class year at Sandra Day O’Connor High School, in Helotes. While high school is not the most favorite time of my life, I do enjoy learning about history and excel in those classes. In my most recent STARR assessment I had a scale score of 4826, well above the Advanced Performance minimum standard score of 4440. I have consistently been on the A-B Honor Roll each year, and currently carry a 3.5 GPA
2013 was my freshman year at O’Connor High School, and I also found my true passion that same year. In order to complete my physical education credit, rather than take P.E, I joined the cross country and track team.
As I progressed through the fall that first year on the JV teams , I learned a lot about running, and I also gained a mindset on how I should take on everything; work hard, keep trying, and be consistent with the things that work. This attitude is what eventually earned me a spot on the varsity cross country team the next season.
For the 2015 season, our varsity team earned second place at several local meets and first place a few times too. As a team we ended the year by finishing second at our regional competition in Corpus Christi. I was very happy and proud that the team had made it there. Next year will be my senior year and we hope to make it to state. Personally, I’ve earned several cross country medals, and in track I placed fourth place earning me a medal for the 800 meter run. I think will all I have a great career in a college cross country team because of my urge to keep getting better and my mindset has always been one to constantly strive to become greater.
