Over the years, I have had many failures and successes. I believe that the tough times that I have been through have taught me valuable lessons such as persistence, determination, and trust. I believe that the most important one of these is trust. To me trust means that I have the patience to listen to my leaders and superiors and take it slow when needed. My coach always says trust the process, and I believe that in due time it will pay off. I believe that I can learn to take things away from any situation, and coaching is one of them.
I started running as a way to stay in shape for baseball, running quickly changed into a full-on sport for me and I have not looked back since. Through running I have learned that I have what it takes to lead alongside my fellow teammates and how to push through pain. I learned that I am mentally tough and am willing to lay it all on the line for my team. My academic goals are to maintain a decent GPA (above a 3.6) and to achieve high levels of success in the SAT and ACT. I wish to go to a University that not only challenges me on the field, but in the classroom as well. Over the years I have had my fair share of adversity, from losing family members to struggling on the track, I have learned to stare it in the eyes and pass it by. I believe that these qualities and willingness to succeed will make me a great candidate for your program.
