In the past few years, I've learned that besides being competitive by nature, I enjoy races where the conditions are harsh, whether its hills, heat, or rain, these motivate me to excel even more. One of the additions to my running in the past few years is the enjoyment of developing a strategy for each race with my coaches and parents; taking into consideration factors such as team goals, weather, known competitors, training load for the week, and number of events.
It is the combination of my analytical mind and desire to excel that separates me from other runners. The student part of being a student-athlete has come easy to me; therefore, I am able to put a lot of my time into my sport and relationships within the sport. It is awesome to be at a place where I can see that I will be able to compete at high level collegiately and be a part of this sport into the future.
