Personal Statement
My name is Ashley Martinec. I am a 2022 and attend Tompkins High School in Katy, Texas. I also play select softball on the Texas Bombers CTX 18u Nationals Womack. I have been playing softball since I was 5, and I've enjoyed every moment of it. I know I have the power and strength to be one of the best pitchers in this sport. I would love the opportunity to show you how competitive I am as an athlete. I pitch 60-62 mph consistently, and up to 63 mph. I throw a wicked curve ball, and when it’s on I'm untouchable. When I am in the circle, I am focused and extremely confident in my ability. I am committed to being the best and I am a good teammate with the right attitude. I have dreamed of being a collegiate softball player ever since I started throwing the ball with my dad in the back yard, and I would like to make that dream come true. I hope to get the opportunity to perform in front of you and show what I can do.
My freshman year in high school was a big success. As the year went on, I became stronger as a pitcher mentally and physically. I was the ace pitcher and pitched every inning in the playoffs all the way through the fourth round.
My sophomore year of high school got cut short Because of the virus. Since there was a stay at home order placed, I am able to get stronger, and put in the work to be ready when we start playing games again. I'm taking advantage of this down time to perfect my pitching form and make it the best it can be. I am doing everything possible to keep my health right. On top of that I'm doing hitting drills and pitching drills daily, so when I come back I will be even more powerful and consistent.
