The cross country program at our school was not very developed in my freshman year. As a freshman running a 20 minute 5k I was the number 2 runner. During that season I gained a true appreciation for mental strength and by the end of the season I dropped 2 minutes in my 5k. Over the course of the next few years I recruited many people to join the team. Now, 3 years later the cross country team is large and competitive in our league and as the number 1 runner I have been very influential in growing the cross country program at my school. Because the cross country program was so under developed, much of my training has been self disciplined. Over the course of the last few years, the mentally of the negative split has been in thoroughly engrained in me. This has taught me that I have a lot more to give than I feel like I can sometimes and I can do absolutely anything if I want it enough.
In highschool I hope to remain above a three-point seven GPA and pursue a higher degree in college. I am not completely set on my major but I am open to new areas of study.
