I have always had a passion for running. To continue my track career at the collegiate level alongside the opportunity to continue my pursuit of academic excellence would be a true blessing. I plan to uphold my 4.0 GPA in college, and to bring an unending grit to every practice, every day as I train for the 400m. What sets me apart from other recruits is a combination of strong academic standing, (I am currently 11th in my class of 630+ students, a member of the National Honor Society, a recipient of the American Legion Award, and earned a 1420 SAT score.) a tireless work ethic/extreme mental toughness, (Medals are truly won through practices, not meets. Because of this, I stay after practice everyday and do my own personal workout.) and the ability to work well with any coach, as I am first a student of the game. I have developed strong leadership characteristics through serving as captain of my 6A high school's track team, and know how to get a team motivated. Running at the varsity level all 4 years of high school has gotten me very familiar with both competition and growing up quickly. I love 2 things: running, and winning. I will do whatever is necessary to continue to do both at the next level as a collegiate athlete, and am thankful for any opportunities that may arise.
