I have run track for all three years of my high school career, joining the varsity team my sophomore year. All of my coaches were replaced the indoor season of my sophomore year allowing me a fresh start to prove to my new coaches that I am honorable, hardworking, and possess crucial leadership qualities. This past 2019 outdoor season I was blessed with the opportunity to attend the New Balance Nationals and run in the second leg (200m) of our 1600m Sprint Medley Relay Championship. I also play soccer for Chantilly club team and I'm one of the team captains.
Over the summer I tend to work at a sleep away recreational summer camp. I used to go to this camp as a camper and am one of few who were chosen to stay and work after I aged out. This experience showed me that perseverance and hard work pay off and allow to reach your goals. Working as a counselor has continued to teach me leadership qualities, teamwork skills and how to push through the pain and fatigue to finish the task at hand.
