My name is Liam Robinson, and what drives me is knowing that if I put the work in, I can achieve what I want in running and in life. Hard work is something I pride myself on and being a part of teams both in and out of school has taught me the value of hard work on and off the course. I am a cross-country runner but am also a national qualifying triathlete through a team called Endorphin Fitness.
The experience of going to the USA Triathlon Youth & Junior Nationals last summer taught me many things. On the day I was nowhere near the level of the top guys in the water or on the bike, and the race didn’t go my way at all (an early crash on the bike ended my race). Despite that, I came away from the experience hungry and ready to work towards next year’s nationals to prove myself on the highest stage of the sport for my age. All of this will take months of hard work and dedication, but that is what drives and inspires me to get back to the start line and compete. This dedication to working hard extends to all aspects of my life, including academics, but I’ve found that it also applies to pushing myself even if I’m out on an easy run or just getting some schoolwork done.
I love being a part of both my school’s cross-country team, and Endorphin Fitness, and I strive to make both my teams and myself better. I can’t wait to see what my activities and academics will bring me in the future.
