I was not able to focus on solely running until the middle of my junior year. I had been a soccer player all my life. Managing soccer and cross country at the same time was limiting progress in my running career. Between keeping up a 3.97 GPA, soccer at an elite level and cross country I was overworking myself. I made the tough decision to leave soccer and dedicate all my time and effort to running. This season, my teammates and I decided to make a promise to ourselves to break 16 minutes in the 5k. To achieve this goal, we've met nearly every day during the summer and trained for 50+ weeks, studied running mechanics, how to train efficiently, and worked hard. I'm excited to see the improvements I will make in the upcoming cross country season, and the times I will set in my first-ever track season. I aim to continue running in college whether it be for a team or a club and continue to improve my times and see how far I can go.
