Caleb Shimasaki '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi college coaches and recruiters. I am Caleb Shimasaki a junior setter and opposite for Glendale High School in California. I consider myself very energetic and easy to communicate with. I always try to hype my teammates up when they are down and provide extra leadership when needed. I have many other hobbies other than volleyball including photography and playing the cello. I constantly challenge myself in the classroom with a variety of classes that allow me to learn things needed for work or physical therapy. Our school failed to make state playoffs the last 2 years and I think that it really pushed me and our team to improve and have a more positive mindset. My goal this year along my team is to make playoffs. Many people say that because I don’t play for a big club and get exposed to college coaches I won’t get recruited however, I believe that if i work hard I can be recognized by college coaches as a determined and hard worker. Overall as a player I have a lot to improve on as I go into my junior year but I believe that I can become someone that has what it takes to play in college regardless of my height.
