My name is Nathaniel Steeg and I am from the Bay Area in California. I started playing club volleyball at the age of 12 at Bay to Bay Volleyball Club, and am currently on the Bay to Bay 14 Premier team. I also play for Harker Middle School on their Varsity A team where I am the starting setter. I have primarily played as setter for my teams while also practicing and playing as an opposite.
I was first introduced to volleyball when my older brother played middle blocker for the Harker varsity team, and took home the D3 CCS title during the 2021 season. I fell in love with volleyball in 6th grade when I first played for Harker Middle School. After my first season, I tried out and made the Bay to Bay 12 Premier team. Prior to volleyball, I played basketball, soccer, track & field, and football. Volleyball is now my primary sport with basketball as my second sport.
During the spring 2025 season, I was Co-Captain of the Harker Varsity A Volleyball Team and starting setter (grades 7 & 8 players.) We were league champions with a season record of 7-1.

In June 2024, at the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championship in Orlando, our 13 Premier team went 11-0 and took Gold in the 13 Club division. I was the team’s starting setter and was recognized as an AAU All American, an honor that made me even more enthusiastic to train, improve, and play more.

After playing volleyball for the past several years, I now aspire to play college volleyball and continue to pursue my passion for this wonderful sport while also pursuing my academic dreams.
In addition to regular team practices, I have also continuously worked on positional and skill training through the Bay to Bay small group training and clinic sessions, positional practices, as well as private lessons with professional coaches such as Katie Goldhahn and Benjamin Patch.
With regards to my academics, I love mathematics and the sciences, and I am taking all NCAA D1 prerequisite courses. My goal is to attend a school with strong academics and a solid volleyball program as I place great value in a balance of both a rigorous athletic and academic life. At present, my plan is to major in biomedical engineering and possibly to pursue medical school. I have also been actively involved in extracurricular activities such as the Harker School Jazz Band in which I play trumpet and lead the trumpet section, and my volunteer work with Music for Impact, the not for profit I founded to enable musical artists to use their talents to raise money for causes such as pediatric cancer research and treatment at St.Jude Children's Research Hospital.
