My goal is to play volleyball in college for a great program where I would bring my extremely strong discipline, work ethic, and effective leadership skills. My high school grade point average is a 3.5/4.0 while taking every honors class available and one advanced placement class. My hard work and discipline are displayed through my efforts outside of practices and games. I am in the weightroom every day because I know getting stronger gives me an edge over my competitors. My leadership skills have developed on and off the court while serving as class president in my freshman year and class treasurer my sophomore year. I know it is extremely important to practice effective communication with others and to always be positive, especially while working in a team. I can lift spirits on the court to take pressure off my teammates to help them play at their best. My ability to learn separates me from other volleyball players. When I am corrected, I make sure not to make the same mistake. When coaches correct others, I listen in and make sure to learn from their mistakes. I watch how the more experienced players play the game and learn what I can from watching from them. I think after making a mistake and try to figure out why I did what I did. I reflect on the things that need improvement after every practice, workout, game and scrimmage. I am always looking for a way to improve my skills. I am never satisfied with the level I am at because when satisfaction sets in, you lose the hunger to improve.
