Aloha, my name is Kaylee Aiona and I am from Hilo, Hawai’i. I attend Waiakea High School and graduate in the year of 2023. The sport softball has played a major role in my life. I began playing softball at a young age of 8 years old. Previously before that I was playing baseball ever since I was 2 years old. Growing up I played many different sports from volleyball to basketball. But softball stayed a constant. For as long as I can remember I’ve always played with older girls. These older girls served as mentors for me and I always told myself that I was going to be higher than their level. This served as a type of motivation for me to get better as a player. I needed to hustle a little more and put a little more effort than the older girls. But this actually helped me grow as a player and person not only physically but mentally and emotionally. I always wanted to play and compete at the collegiate level. That is by far my biggest goal to accomplish. On top of my athletic goals, I also have academic goals I would like to achieve as well. My plan is to be the first of my family to graduate college. This is why I work hard both in and out of the classroom, for both my family and myself.
