Everything I do can be summed up by one Bible verse. That Bible verse is Colossians 3:23. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” This mentality is something I apply to everything I do whether that be sports, the classroom, or service to others. My good work ethic is reflected by my 3.86 GPA, my volleyball play, and my various academic awards. My servant heart can be seen in my volunteering at my church on the video team, being a PM (project manager) in Interact Club, and being Vice President of the National Honor Society.
During my Volleyball career, I initially started as a pin hitter whether that be opposite or outside. In my Sophomore year I made the varsity team and was moved to middle. I took on the challenge of learning to be a middle. Then when my Junior year came, I became the starting middle for HBA. I gained lots of experience in the middle, which has helped me to hit better on the pin. On my club team, I was given the opportunity to serve and to be a point scorer as a middle. I had a major impact on the team which helped us to get 5th place. Currently, I’m a pin hitter on my club team. To get to my goal of being a pin hitter in college, I am working out 6 days a week with workouts specific to gaining strength as well as increasing my athleticism to be a well rounded volleyball player. but being a middle has taught me to be relentless by always blocking on everything.
I am coachable and willing to learn to become a better volleyball player in order to be an asset to the team. I will continue my good work ethic on and off the court.
