Personal Statement
I started playing volleyball when I was in 7th grade. I went out for my middle school volleyball team and made the B team. I was also on the B team for 8th grade, then I tried out for high school and made the Freshman A team. When I played freshman year, I found my love for volleyball. I started to play volleyball very seriously and during freshman year, we were one of the best teams in our conference. One of my friends on my team, then invited me to tryout for his club, Serve City. I started as a practice player to get a feel for the club, and I loved it with all my heart. Volleyball became my new favorite sport as I had played soccer since i was 9 and even played on the varsity team as a goalkeeper my sophomore year and I decided I wanted to play volleyball at a high competitive level and quit soccer. I tried out for Serve City and I was put on 16 National. Since then I have put my blood, sweat, and tears into volleyball and always go for the gold. Our season went very well and I had the best time of my life. We were also awarded an Open bid to Nationals. Volleyball has been my passion since freshman year and it feels like I have loved volleyball all of my life. Anytime there is a volleyball near, I am always playing with it. I always strive to be the best player I can be, on and off the court. When school season came around, I was put on Varsity as a sophomore and I have started almost every game. I loved school season because I got to make new friendships with people I wouldn’t have talked to because they were older. School season also taught me to play hard no matter what the result is. My love of volleyball has taught me dedication and devotion to strive to achieve my goals in life because beyond the academic side of life there should also be fun, friends and volleyball.
