Chris Davis '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Chris and I'm going into my senior year at Johnston High School in Iowa. At an early age, I remembered walking around my house with a volleyball in my hands. At 13 years old, I found my love for volleyball when I began playing for Ohana Volleyball Club. I have played there ever since and living in Iowa where Boys’ volleyball is not a sanctioned sport, this has motivated me to set my heart out on playing collegiate volleyball and obtaining a good education. During my years of playing 18u level volleyball, I quickly had to learn what it took to play at a higher level not just physically but mentally. During the seasons, I worked hard and was constantly in the gym, practicing my skills when I was not occupied with my academic studies. I have always loved this sport for the reasons of learning new skills and breaking barriers wherever they might appear. I have been a starter on my team who has played all positions and has always loved working and improving at a certain position wherever it may be on the court. In high tension games I am level headed and offer my team a positive outlook in heated moments. More so, I have an attitude to keep improving and help others get better as well. In addition, I have always been an active student who wants to further my education to pursue a career in psychology. As I go into my last year of High School, I strive to accomplish my volleyball goals and aspiration all while balancing my athletic and academic obligations.
