My name is Pawel Sliwinski, I am currently a 15 year old sophomore at Garfield High School. I was born in Poland, which is where I developed my love for volleyball. I can play all positions however my main positions are outside hitter, and opposite. My coach plays me in these positions over teammates who are 6'4 and 6'6 even though I am 6', because of my intimidating vertical, blocking, and hitting ability. I have played all positions throughout my volleyball career and I am very strong in all positions, except for middle. I bring lots of energy to the team, and I choose to never give up. I have very good serving ranging from a simple jump float which has been the most effective this season, to a killer topspin jump serve which hasn't failed me yet. I am one of the leaders of the team, and in bad situations I am the one who my teammates look to, to turn things around. I am ready to fully commit to a college where I will be able to play the sport that I love, and be the leader that I am now. I have a very good balance when it comes to academics, sports, and extra curricular activities. I am an all honors student with an average 3.5 GPA hoping to get into the National Honors Society next year. My strong point in school definitely has to be History, and the class which I'm weakest in is Math. I am very fortunate to have parents who want me to expand my knowledge, and learn knew things. When I was 10 years old I started taking guitar classes, and since then my skills have exploded into something I never thought I would achieve. I have many hobbies, my main ones are film making, snowboarding, and surfing. I have started a YouTube Channel simply named "Pawel Sliwinski" where you can see some of my work from behind the lens. I've been snowboarding and surfing since about 9 years old and those too are sports where I have a wide variety of skills. I also am interested in first aid, and to learn more about it I completed a Life Guard class with the Red Cross. I am now trained in CPR, First Aid, Epipen, and Blood Born Pathogens. I am looking forward to using my knowledge and skills to my advantage in the future. Please feel free to email me if there are any questions.
Thank You,
Pawel Sliwinski
