Anthony Michael Zamora '25 Recruiting Profile

     As someone who has played basketball for over 10 years, I thought that was the sport I wanted to pursue for my future. Unfortunately, a 6-month absence due to an arm fracture in my radius stopped my dreams of basketball and brought me a new passion, volleyball. I hope to pursue volleyball to play on the collegiate level and help my parents pay for my college tuition. Volleyball has changed my life, and I use it as a distraction to keep me away from my stress and problems. The grind, the pursuit, and the overall drive to win is something I always strive for, and obtaining that through volleyball is something I'm truly grateful for and passionate about. 

     I humbly believe I'm a good candidate for a collegiate team because I consistently bring the energy and passion for a team. I've realized that this sport takes a lot of mental fortitude than just your physical attributes. From IQ and your overall attitude throughout a game or practice, I truly showcase this consistently for a team. Additionally, I often love building close relationships with my teammates and coaches, leading to great chemistry within a team, which I believe is one of the key factors to winning. From a volleyball perspective, I'm an active libero, always trying to make a beneficial read before any plays occur. From reading a hitter's arm swing, to coverage on an attack, I'm always somewhere to get a touch on the ball. 

     Like on a team, my character can be highlighted as authentic. I tend to form true, honest relationships with people as I think these are the people that will always be important in your life. You can learn from these people and spend the most time with them in your life. From an academic standpoint, I take a surplus of Honors and AP classes and participate in co-curricular such as music and clubs. I love being able to be skilled at multiple things as it provides me with opportunities I could utilize in my future. Finally, I have a true love for community service as I learned you shouldn't take things for granted in life. Whenever there is an opportunity to serve people, whether that may be in my youth group or a service project in my community, I'm always willing to help.
