I started volleyball at 10 years old, by going outside onto the streets and passing a volleyball back and forth with my mother. Just passing a ball around progressed into joining my Gr. 8 volleyball team, and then to joining the 15U team of the Ottawa Maverick Volleyball Club. Following a successful 15U season with great teammates and coaches who helped nurture my tactical skills, physical ability, and mental attitude, I really fell in love with the energy and the teamwork involved in the sport, and decided that I wanted to pursue it during post-secondary at as high of a level as I possibly can.
Although my main position is listed as middle blocker, I am currently working on refining my fundamental skills and to become as versatile of a recruit as I can be. I am always willing to give my all during practices, games, and tournaments; I am competitive, and strive to be the hardest working among my teammates. I always look out for my teammates, stay patient with them, and support them both on and off the court. I am coachable; I am always ready for feedback from coaches and teammates alike, and to utilize the feedback to improve my game as much as possible.
I am a serious student who strives to be academically outstanding. I highly prioritize my studies, and I am able to consistently achieve the highest grades among my classmates in any given class. I have maintained honour roll status across my first two years of high school, and was selected for my school's subject awards for math and music. Outside of volleyball, I have done volunteer farm work at the Ottawa Food Bank Farm, and I am currently tutoring music.
I will be a good fit in a college that gives me opportunities to challenge and improve myself both academically and athletically. I am open to offers from all colleges, but I ultimately want to play at the highest level of competition possible so I can reach my maximum potential and pursue my love for the sport.
Thank you for your time and your consideration. Stay safe.
