Cory Pharand

I play Volleyball on my high school team, a club travel team and in the Men’s League. I consider myself a versatile player, skilled in a number of positions, including Outside Hitter, Middle Hitter and Setter.I am an Outside Hitter on my high school team and a Middle Hitter, Outside Hitter and Setter on my Club Team and Men’s League Team.  I am a leader on my team as Co-Captain this year.  I encourage and support my teammates.  I was honoured to be named Grade 9 Athlete of the Year at my high school and Grade 10 Rookie of the Year for Volleyball.  In Grade 11, I was named MVP Volleyball and this year, I was the Co-Captain of my high school team.  I believe that I am a strong offensive member of my team bringing a 64% kill rate.  This year, my high school coach asked me to play on his men’s league team.  Our club team also plays in the men’s league. 

As a student, I enjoy learning and am committed to doing well in school. I currently have a 3.9 cumulative GPA.  

I have been very actively involved in extra-curricular and coached the grade 9 boys basketball team, was the assistant coach of junior varsity basketball, volunteered at the Staal Foundation Open CPGA Golf Tournament as a caddie and volunteer at my church as a reader and buying school supplies and stuffing backpacks for needy students to share a few of my interests.  I am also an avid golfer and won the high school regional tournament this year. One of my hobbies is to play the guitar.

Academically, I am very good at Business, English, Law and Sciences. I am curious as a student and enjoy participating in class discussions. My goal is to become a Corporate Lawyer.  I plan to take an undergraduate in Business and then a law degree. I am interested in strong Business programs.
