My name is Hugo Marques, and I have dual citizenship (USA and Brazil). I’ve been playing volleyball since 7th grade, and I have 8 years of volleyball experience in the US (3 years) and Brazil (5 years). I'm a sophomore at Talladega College, playing volleyball in the NAIA division, and I think I'm a good candidate because I'm a team player, I'm coachable, and I know the game of volleyball. I'd rather win games as a role player than lose games as a star player, and I will do anything to help the team win. I also enjoy receiving direct criticism from my coaches about how and what I can improve on, and I try to take everything in and apply it in practice and games. I have also played volleyball for a long time and watched thousands of different games, so I have plenty of knowledge about the sport that I have transformed into skills that, I believe, make up for my lack of athletic skills. Additionally, because I have this knowledge, I can help make my teammates better by giving them positive and constructive feedback on certain things they can do to perform better.
