I enjoy playing volleyball so much that one day I hope to be a full time coach. The dynamics of volleyball are intriguing because six players that work together as a team can come together and beat a team of super stars. I am actively helping coach younger teams at my local club - Dakine. My hopes for helping coach is to increase my understanding of the game.
After many years of experience in the outdoors I have learned, developed and now help lead outdoor expeditions. These trips vary from river rafting, winter snow caving, and mountaineering. For several days each winter on Mt. Rainier, we take a small group of 10 to 15 people to dig elaborate snow caves to sleep in. During the summer we take a group of 30 to 45 people river rafting on a class IV river in the Pacific Northwest. I am the captain of one of four 13’ rafts during these three to five day expeditions. Since my childhood, I have summited over ten mountains in the pacific northwest. In preparation to achieve my goal to summit Mt. Rainier I have trained in glacier travel and rope climbing, so that I can keep the family tradition alive.
