My name is Eli Samon and I am a currently a Sophomore at Carlmont High School in Belmont CA. I started water polo with the Stanford Water Polo Club in 7th grade after I stopped playing club baseball. After learning the sport in my first year I realized found my passion and made it my goal to make it to the club’s Junior Olympic team. So, I worked very hard during the winter and spring club seasons and when the summer session began I was placed onto the club’s 14U Junior Olympic team and my team won the bronze medal in the classic division (14u 2022). After that accomplishment I set a new goal, to make the varsity high school water polo team in 9th grade. So for six days a week I did strength training at the gym, practiced my skills, and ate healthy to boost my performance. My hard work paid off and I was the only freshmen in the last five years to make the varsity team at Carlmont High School. I was also named an Academic All-American by USA Water Polo for the 2022-2023 school year. I am now again on the varsity team at Carlmont High School in 2023-2024 school year as a sophomore. I continue to play with the Stanford Water Polo Club on the 16U team when my high school is not in season.
My coaches have always complimented me on my hard work, discipline, and leadership skills.
I am excited to continue my water polo athletic career at the collegiate level while also pursuing my academic interests in finance. I am committed to both athletics and academics (currently have a 3.73/4.0 GPA) and strive to always be a leader in and out of the pool.
