I was first put into a pool when I was only six weeks old and then put into the ocean when I was only one. My love for water began at a very young age but began to flourish when I was about four or five when while playing around on a diving board at a local recreational pool. With a background in swimming and gymnastics, diving was a comfortable bi-product that was easy for me. The lifeguard who was watching me told my mom that I was a natural and should try diving as a sport. After about a year of pleading, she finally acquiesced and placed me into a beginner learn-to-dive program. I was only enrolled for one day, when my few talents were noticed by one of the lead coaches, and I was gradually promoted upward until I was competing at a National Level on the JOA team at Stanford Diving Club, under the direction of Oleg Andriyuk. I dove steadily for seven years, and routinely placed in the top 10 National Divers in my age group during competition. Over time, I lost a love for the sport and looked onward towards a change. I found Water Polo at Half Moon Bay High School in the fall of 2018, as a Sophomore. I immediately fell in love with the sport. The speed, camaraderie, and overall team dynamics had me hooked. I am now playing club water polo with Stanford for the 3rd year, as a Senior, under the coaching of Tim Kates and I also play for my high school team through a small local club hosted by Mavericks Swim Team. I hope to play Water Polo at a collegiate level, while majoring in Aeronautics or Aviation. I am already a strong player, and am committed to improving my fundamental skills. I am ambidextrous and a fast swimmer, competitive and aggressive in the water. I feel like Water Polo brings out the best in me.
