Hi I am Jonathan Carcarey and have been playing water polo for 4 years. I am currently 14, as a freshman, with a desire to play at the highest level. I play for Righetti High School in Orcutt, California. I was a starter on Varsity this season. We made it to CIF semi-finals and had a tough loss. This season I was honored to receive The Coaches Award and Honorable mention in our league.
This season has taught me to never give up or stop playing. I struggled at the start of the season to change from 14u to varsity. As the season went on, I started to learn my role on this team. I also learned that it’s not all about scoring and playing hero ball because it’s a team sport. Brian Tracy said, ”Don’t aspire to be the best on the team, aspire to be the best for the team.”
When I first started waterpolo I knew this sport was for me and I would do anything to be the best. Waterpolo is a sport that challenges you everyday and everyday you will find a new obstacle. That’s why I love waterpolo because there are always ways to get better.
My goal is to play at the college level and beyond because I want to play against and surround myself with the best. My desire is to be the best and to be the best you must play the best.
