Personal Statement
Release the Kraken!
I feel that rise up within me when I jump into the tank.
A bit of History -I first began playing water polo in the midlakes summer league up in Bellevue Washington- just east of Seattle. I quickly realized I wanted to play water polo on Club so I begged my mom to sign me up for Northwest Water Polo Club. I enjoyed The outdoor practices- at times deck temps were in the 20s, snow piling up behind the coaches- who wore parkas and boots. It was invigorating. I wanted more. I attended JOs with NWPC along with other tournaments in California, Oregon, Washington, and BC Canada. I was a swing player for JV and varsity my freshman year at Interlake High School and often started Varsity games. I earned MVP JV player in the league. We moved to Atlanta right after JOs 2019 and I joined Norcross High School, starting as a sophomore on the varsity squad.
What I Bring- I bring work ethic(thanks dad!) drive, and tenacity. I may not be the fastest swimmer in a swim race but I’ll beat anyone to a ball- my scrap and determination closes any gap quick. I am both a decisive player- quick to pull the trigger with a smart play, and a coach able player- pivoting my game when coach points out something.
I want to play in college- because I’m not done with this sport yet. The call of the Kraken is still within and I can’t ignore it- I must feed it.
