Marco Fontana '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Marco Fontana and I wish to develop my athletic career while obtaining academic accomplishments. I am a 19-year-old left-handed water polo player who plays in Italy for Nuoto Club Monza in the Senior Serie B team. Last year, as well as the Senior Serie B team, I played in the Serie A with the Junior team. Before moving to Italy, from 16-18 years old, I played in Portugal for Sporting Clube Portugal (SCP) in the u18 team (in which I was captain and placed 1st in the “Portuguese National Tournament” 2022/2023), and the 1st division team (which placed 3rd in the “Portuguese National Tournament” 2022/2023). I have also been part of the Portuguese national team since 2018. In 2022, from the 22nd of June to the 30th of June, I represented the Portuguese national team in the Mediterranean Games in Algeria where I competed against the water polo powerhouses; Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia, and France. I believe that what separates me from other athletes is my drive, focus, sportsmanship, and devotion to becoming the best possible athlete and water polo player I can be.
